Be Extraordinary

I feel our cohort was really lucky to have you as our mentor. I've heard from my team mates that the mentor connect of other cohorts were not conducted regularly, and the project also wasn't done how it was actually meant to be done. But our major learning happened only during this phase with your guidance. I've really gained a lot of insight about various aspects of the IT field from you, which was really necessary for me as I had no prior information of it. Every session has helped us all in both technical and behavioural knowledge gaining. Thank you so much for taking us through this learning process.

I am feeling very privileged for giving feedback about a person like you . As I was new to this industry ,I always have a doubt that I could withstand but now I am adequately prepared enough for the challenges that would encounter by me in this industry this wouldn’t be possible without your mentorship. Your weekly connects improved my communication, listening, punctuality and also it taught me how to be within the team apart from these I also learnt how to look at the hurdles at the other dimension so that it would be solved fast. My point of view regard this industry was completely changed with your lectures. You also spoke about how to use weekends effectively that would help me through out my life. On overall point of view I was extremely gratified to have a mentor like you. Finally I would like to say ”If I have to rate you on the basis 5 stars then I would give you the 6th star”. On this note I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge and also for shaping the young minds that make us to look at the industry in an pertinent way.

Key takeaway points for me from the Mentor sessions(Project, Connects and Mini-project):
Before starting with the task we should make a plan or create a structure in our mind then the execution will be fine. Conforming the details which we have got related to our use case. Taking up new things as a challenge and evaluating it from different perspective as we have done in mini projects Making a timetable with four column for task management Learning new things about workflow and project environment I feel these connect frequency could be increased and solving small use case in a sub topic of a chapter really helps.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your time and effort in moulding and making us corporate ready, by explaining the raw reality and nature of the job and its environment. This journey with you for the past few months had its own prosperity and hardships. Sometimes I felt like you were repeating the contents a lot and later I realised its purpose and the depth of it. The concept of the mini-project was really good, it built confidence in me to code and especially the freedom to use any language(I really don't know JAVA but I love to work with PYTHON this freedom helped me to explore it). I had a rollercoaster experience in my mento project. Initially, I felt why are we deviating from the pdf so much and also felt we are wasting our time and energy on it. At a later stage, I understood that I learnt a lot of new concepts and I got the confidence that I could survive in an actual demanding project(Because our team was working day and night even on Sunday). This project pushed me out of my comfort zone and it helped me in a good way. Throughout the course of this training, I learnt that my focus level is now very high and Determination and persistence is more important than talent.

First of all I would like to Thank You for your valuable time for over the past 3-4 months of guidance and support you gave us in various aspects of technical, behavioural and professional .

From the day one you want to know more about who we are going to be, as you shared your starting journey as a data entry operator and made us to believe that we can do better even if we are from a Non-IT background. Your Ideas and thoughts that you shared were very helpful and I felt that the sessions you thought from day one made me to think in different angles.

One concern I have is during the past week of our project days you thought on various aspects of data warehouse concepts were very helpful, as I am not aware of that at beginning in the training as I learnt only the theoretical part of it…Instead of saying or teaching on those aspects at peak times of our project you could have started that earlier when we were on our informatica training stage itself so that during this project time I felt it has a challenging one to complete and learn quickly but learning under these circumstances at peak stage was made difficult for me, but finally I did my best based on your valuable sessions of 3 longer days on staging layer part and I thought of you could have started earlier on this aspect.

Apart from all these you made me to think of various aspects on how a mechanical engineer student will become an IT engineer, these all the things comes from experience itself I am privileged to have such a mentor like you during my entire training and you suggested many things on different scenarios of how the corporate life is going to be thanks for that.

Thanks for cognizant and Nandhini for giving such an Experienced Mentor by whom we got to know many things and Finally my heartful thanks Soundar for supporting everyone in various personal, professional aspects.
RAJESH,DURISHEETI
Hi Soundar, your mentor sessions helped me various aspects like time management for work and family. It helps me to know how a Corporate company works and environment of the office premises. Thanks for helping in project, it gives a clear sight that how a real-time Informatica project will be. Your years of great experience helped me to know about how to deal with pressurized situations. Thanks for suggesting "Atomic Habits" book, about maintaining consistency and improvement in life. I am not done with the book yet. Once it gets completed, I will try to write a summary and mail it to you.

Mentoring sessions have initiated a transformation process within myself from a mechanical engineer to a technical engineer. I was able to inculcate values that a successful IT engineer should have. Time management sessions helped me to plan my day in a systematic and effective manner.

Apart from all the other training sessions, two weeks of developing our project contained a lot of learning and has transformed me into a technical engineer. It also taught me different approaches to solve a single problem, how different minds work together and the art of co-operation and developing ideas.

My past experience with CTS has gone really well. Before joining CTS, I was interested in data-related jobs and luckily the domain I got 'Data Integration full stack' is related to data. All the teachings, training and experience that I have got has been really helpful for me and has increased my knowledge on the fundamentals of data.

Through mentor connect, I have got to know how to work in the industry, whatever you have asked us to do and whatever you have said in the meetings were always a new experience and through it, I have gained additional knowledge and insights of how to work in the industry. I learnt how to stay disciplined in my work.

You are very inspirational. I appreciate your willingness to help us and provide tips. Your way of challenging us to the mini-project and assigning the task has helped me to upgrade my skills though my project was quite too much to do within few days, I wish we could have got a few more days for the Informatica project but still, we managed to do it in a hurry and learnt a lot from it. Overall it was a wonderful experience. I admire how you give encouragement to have a positive mindset.

Thank you Soundar for being our mentor.

Hello Soundar, Hope you are doing well. The past three months have been a journey. I learnt a lot in this three month both technically and behavioral. When I joined the organization, I had my doubts but your guidance and with trainers help all those doubts were clarified. I found your every session helpful and the things that you shared with us I implemented them in my day-to-day life, and I will be using them in future as well. I really appreciate your help and I am thankful for your time.
Mohammed Ali Asgar
I am writing to you to say how grateful I am for the mentor-ship you’ve given me over the past 3 months. You groomed us to be professionals and taught how to work in this organization. You have always made me speak up to convey my thoughts and encouraged me and guided me in the right path. You have made us all go through a sample project trail run which was necessary to test the knowledge that we gained in the training. You have made to speak among ours cohort people which was necessary but nobody was ready to initiate due to language, gender barriers. You always asked us to seek help from other colleagues when we need it saying there is nothing wrong with seeking help and encouraged us to help others too.

To be honest i don't have any particular issue about your techniques but i do think sometimes there were miscommunications in the meeting which created several confusions. Some times you thought you have conveyed some message which you haven't, which left us puzzled when you talked about it again. Other then these, we wanted more mentor sessions so that we could have gained more knowledge from you . But i do hope that you'll guide us in the future.

Thanks for being a good mentor and for guiding me on the right path. I will always be thankful to you.

I am Harshit Shukla(2069779) I could recall the day when you asked us that what we have to become . Everyone told about his/her things I told you that I want to become full stack developer you said that what are you doing here . In next mentor connect you told us about don't think of the work/industry which you are doing just learn whatever you are given you will learn many things . I started of learning Database and Datawarehouse concepts more. We had certain challenges in knowing the work which we are doing , the job roles which we are going to get, details about how the people are deployed into projects and everything related to onshore/offshore projects. Mini project which you gave has helped me to get rid of my mental block that I don't know informatica and I am not gaining confidence in coding . This helped me in final project and the way you explained the project to our cohort having straight connect for 5 to 6 hours made us very confident.

The nontechnical things which you taught us of time management , meditation, ethics and reading culture has great impact .I am trying to follow the things which you told by which I could groom my personality and improve my overall entity.

I want to say sorry for writing very long email still many points are left. There are many things which I want to thank you for being my mentor because I was from Non-IT background and developing my logics and intellect to become a Technical Engineer.
Harshit Shukla
Thank for guiding and mentoring me throughout this amazing journey of training and I could not have asked for a better mentor than you, who had made me learn lessons that I would carry forward throughout my life. Please find attached the word document in which I have shared my feedback and mentioned all the points for which I am eternal grateful and I suggest you would keep on doing this for all your future mentees. I do have suggested one aspect on which I felt there is a scope of improvement which is not a criticism and hope would not be taken in any negative connotation. I am also awaiting your feedback on me and there is a scope of improvement and I will start developing and learning towards it. I have almost completed reading the Atomic Habits with only 4 chapters remaining, I have started to apply concepts from the book in my real life. I thank you again for all the learnings.
Kamaksha Prasad Naik
After being under your mentoring for the past few months, I have learnt a lot from you, not only in the technical aspects but also learnt how to mold myself into a better Technical IT Engineer. So I am sharing a few thoughts of my own, both positive and negative which I consider would be a great overall feedback for your mentoring sessions.

Positives:

I learnt the value of time management from you, when you first shared your daily schedule. You inspired me to adhere to this schedule and get the work-life balance for a healthy living.

When you shared your career path from a B.Com graduate to a Senior Manager, I got instilled with confidence. I saw a silver lining for my career in this IT field and felt nothing is impossible.

The technical guidance that you have provided for the past few weeks, was a gamechanger. I never thought that learning the ETL concepts and applying them in a project would be so different. In my opinion the learning in these two weeks were equal to, if not greater than the, 4 month training.

Negatives:

I personally felt that sometimes, the connects went off track, I don’t know if other members from my cohort found value in that but I did not.

I also felt that the training that you provided for us week in last two weeks, were sometimes overwhelming. So if the duration of this project were relaxed, I think that I would have grasped more from your teachings.

So, this is my feedback from your mentoring. In my opinion I cannot think of a better mentor, who would invest so much of his time and resources for our cohort. The negatives that I mentioned far outweigh the positive impact you had on me and I will be forever grateful for this experience.

This is yashoda from cohort-CDB21DW061,when mentor sessions started i was little scare to interact but you made me to interact in every aspect like technical as well as behavioural. Now those mentor connects boosted my confidence in technical as well behavioural managing skills. The best thing i learned from you is patience, because while explaining in SCD you guided very patiently by clearing each and every doubt of us. All the concepts you explained and mini project you gave to us added more knowledge to our training. Thanks for guiding us from past three months.
Yerramsetty Yashoda
This is the small feedback about I want to give about you during our training program . It’s been great journey since last four months got to know about various things like, how to handle things , manage things and how to be a good and efficient team player. To be honest initially I was thinking why mentor connect is putted in our curriculum and what’s the use of it but after completing our program now I feel the change inside me , why you always push us to take us out from the comfort zone.

Really appreciated the way you has been during the training and for the last week, learned a lot from you . Now I can feel the difference what I’m four month ago and what I’m now . Looking forward to implement those learning . Thank you for the guidance and cooperation.

In this journey 5 month from an electrical engineer to a technical professional my mindset and skills have developed a lot and your techniques in mentor connects are one of the reason behind that. I implemented your time management ideas into my life and that helped me a lot. Your advice of waking up at 5 is turned out to be a successor for not only for physical health, for strong mental too which helped to put positivity with each dawn. I found a different version of myself in this few months and I’m thankful to cognizant for making you the mentor of this cohort.

As a trainee, I had a great learning experience for the past 4 months. I was completely new to this field and your sessions really helped me to get to know more about this. You explained the workflow, and the things that I would be expected to do here. I started to keep notes of things that I had done every day after hearing you which helped me in getting organized. You always made me speak and pushed me to overcome my inhibitions. The last two weeks was really challenging, it was a completely new dimension for me. I had the best team. Even if we were only six in number, we completed the task by giving our best. My team lead Kamaksha had done a great job and we all supported him very well. I had to do the discussions, brainstorming, peer learning, taking up responsibilities, working with a time constraint etc. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. As a mentor you have done a great job. You had put in a lot of time and effort for us. It would be a little easier of me to avoid confusions if you could make your instructions a bit more clear. I sincerely thank you for all the guidance and mentoring given to me.

From the day 1 of mentor connect I have missed some classes due to network issue, but I genuinely enjoyed the rest. I have implemented the prioritizing activity and time management techniques you have taught in the class. It has helped me a lot and I also made meditation as one of my Hobbie all thanks to you. In the project part I really appreciate you giving us that push that required to get out of our comfort zone. I never thought I will be working 3 am but now I did. I also got to learn to work in team, solve problem together and resolving difference in opinion. Overall, I have grown a lot in these 4 month and you played a major role in that. Thank you so much for that.

“A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future, and believe it can be obtained.” – Shawn Hitchcock

I think the proverb describes exactly what you did in mentor connect. The best part is the way you motivated me and made me see what I can do. I always took the project given by you sincerely, completing these projects gave me confidence that I can obtain what you made me see in your motivational lectures.

These learnings will always be part of my life. You made me understand the importance of having rights values in your life which defines you as a person.

Your insights from the industry helped me to see the big picture. Now I also started to look into other technologies such as big data analytics, machine learning, and data science.

In the past few weeks, I even started learning about big data (except the week when we were working on the project). where I learned about Hadoop and apache-spark, soon I will be completing my first beginner-level spark project.

I truly appreciate and value everything that I have learned from you. It will forever remain a major contribution to my success and achievements.

Thank you, for your time, support, and patience.

I feel that i am very glad to be part of this CDB21DW061 Cohort and especially your mentoring sessions. The AAA ( Adapt,Adopt,Adept) session has changed my life alot. Before this session i felt little bit difficult as i am from non it background. But after that session i followed your suggestions and now i am very confident to say that i am a Technical Engineer. The Knowledge you imparted on us through Gyan sessions on Social, Technical, Functional, Professional aspects has helped me a lot. Before doing the academy project, I had only technical knowledge but, by giving that kind of project to us helped me in bridging the gap between theoritical knowledge and realtime business project. Especially it has improved my communication skills and team work abilities.

It was a great experience to be under your mentorship. It has 3 phrases:

1. Intially You make us familiar to the organisation and make our brains as an IT engineer eventhough we are form Non IT background by inducing gyann to our brains.

2.coming to technical part, make us comfortable on informatica and python and other technical aspects by mini project and sessions.

3.Final one,the project. This was the main part in our training.Learn a lot from the team,it was an real time experience ,brainstorming sessions.

Thanks for the great experience and enriching our brains.

It was an amazing journey with you. It’s honorable for me to be under your supervision. I learned a lot from you in technical aspects as well as functional aspects of work and how to implement the technologies in real time perspective as well. I learned implementation of SCD type2 based on requirements and execution of work within the time. I still remember that you said an example at the starting stage of our journey that "Everyone being an individual should compare them as ball whenever theauthority's gives you inputs , then ultimately bounce back with the output as a desired result". It Inspired me a lot. Thank you for your mentorship and guidance.

Firstly, I would like to start by thanking you for supporting us throughout our project. With your support and guidance, I got a clear vision on how to approach our project and was able to collaborate and contribute myself with the team. One important thing which I learnt from you is that, as a fresher we should never be in our comfort zone. We need to get away from that mindset, explore and push ourselves more each time to be better. In the initial period of our training, I was nervous and have even got bogged down thinking if am the right fit or no. But in this journey, your mentor connects with us has literally boosted my confidence level. Each time mentor connects happened, I have felt so motivated and positive about myself. I started self-learning everything along with that I made use of Udemy courses provided to us. With the guidance of all our trainers right from SQL to Database, I now feel confident about myself and started getting that knack in me to learn & explore more.

Mini-project which you gave us was really helpful for me. It made me pre-ready to work for our actual training project. The day we started with our training project, you really managed to give us all your attention & spent ample of your time to guide us, so that we will be able to give our project outputs. You gave me the scenario of how it will be when we will actually start working on real-time projects. You have made me project-ready. Along with that, I am also communicating well, am able to put my thoughts into right words and am able to think more in technical perspective, by how fast and easily a problem can be solved without making it complex.

Lastly, I would end here by telling that I will always be grateful & thankful to you for guiding me with the right knowledge and for lighting that spark in me which each individual needs to have as a fresher. Looking forward to meet you in person and express my gratitude towards you.

I would like to start with a big thanks for you for helping me transition from mechanical engineering student to an IT professional.

The journey you have taken me through was really commendable. During the initial days i was doubting myself, having thoughts like am i doing the right thing or not. But today I can confidently say I can do this and its doable thing for me. During the initial days you didn't put lot of burden on me personally, as you are aware that I am new to this field and allowed me to grow step by step. I liked your way of conveying different things from various aspects, showing different perspectives of the same picture. The emotional help you gave me was really helpful.

From the technical part I can undoubtedly say that last 10 days of learning was greater than the entire 3 months of training. You have taken me through the realtime experience of the project. You put a lot of efforts and extra hours to get the things done. You have also put lot of stress on me to bring the contrast between the initial days of training and final ones to show how tasks must be accomplished in stipulated time.

Finally, I would like stay in touch with you wanted to meet you in person in Chennai and show my gratitude personally.I wish you and your family have great health soundar.

I'm happy to share my feedback with you. You always motivate me to set high standards. I have taken up Team lead role for retail industry project with your support. I have organized each activity to complete project before the deadline with help of your time management session(High priority task).

I have learned different things from you. Being responsible for the organization and for personal life. The kind of work life balance which you maintain amuses me.

You changed my perspective towards on IT industry. Being from mechanical background I had lot of self-doubts entered cognizant. Luckily at initial stage of my career I found you as my mentor. I feel It is the best thing which ever happened in my life. After that I never look back again. With you motivation and support, I played role of Team lead even though my team had IT background people. They believed in me. Now I can take up any challenge which comes in my career to move ahead.

Coming Technical learnings. I learned SCD types and Audit, balance, control method. And how to set up daily agenda to complete the project within a given time.

I like one quality in you is, you don't pamper the people. That initially hurts people, but in long run it is going to be more beneficiary for the people.

Overall, It is a great experience for me as being your mentee. You're going to always special person in my life.

Could you please give me suggestions to improve myself. I'm kindly waiting for your response.

I'm eager to see you in Chennai.
